Amelia Earhart


Amelia Earhart was an American aviation pioneer and the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, she was also an author she wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. She broke the women’s altitude record when she rose to 14,000 feet in 1922 and she was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and she published her book 20 hours 40 minutes, toured, lectured, and became aviation editor of Cosmopolitan magazine in 1928.


Amelia was a creative impulse within the Ninety-Nines organization, and a stimulus for womankind to replace outdated social norms. She set many flying records and championed the advancement of women in aviation. She broke down the barriers as the first female to a solo pilot a plane across the Atlantic and she intended to fly to Paris in her single-engine, trying to emulate Charles Lindbergh’s solo flight 5 years before. Although she has a strong conviction, challenging prejudicial and financial obstacles awaited her, she was no stranger to disapproval or doubt. She inspired many women to follow their ambitions and dreams she also still a symbol of the power and perseverance of women.


Nowadays, Amelia Earhart is remembered for her last, lost flight. But in her time, she was best known as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic.
